Lido di Camaiore: pier, promenade and beaches for a relaxed holiday

If Viareggio is the city and Forte dei Marmi the drawing room, Lido di Camaiore is the back garden: a wide promenade, bikes everywhere and sunsets from the pier.
From pine woods to seaside resort
Until the late 19th century there were only pines and pastures here. Land reclamation created the resort, now separate from the hilltop historic centre of Camaiore, about 5–6 km inland.
285 metres of walkway over the sea: the simplest and most beautiful sunset in Versilia.
The Bellavista Vittoria pier
The symbol of the Lido is its pier: 285 metres long and 4 wide, opened on 31 May 2008 on the site of a 1930s wooden walkway. It ends in an oval platform with a small bar. At sunrise and sunset it's the most photographed spot on the coast.

Promenade and beaches
The Viale Europa seafront is lined with beach clubs, bars and shops, with a cycle path continuing north to Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi and south to Viareggio. The beach is wide and sandy, which is why families love it (see our beach guide for families).
Tips
- Walk the pier at sunset: the sun drops into the sea while the Apuan Alps glow behind you.
- One evening, drive up to old Camaiore for dinner in the village.
